Tawil on AQIM
Jamestown just published an interesting piece by Camille el-Tawil, on Algeria’s war on al-Qaida (and vice versa). Tawil is probably one of the best writers there is on Maghrebi Jihadism — he started tracking the GIA insurgency from the very start, and has been interviewing top Salafi-Jihadi leaders for el-Hayat ever since, nearly managing to keep up with the rate at which the Algerian army is killing them. His book al-Qaida wa Akhawatuha (soon to be published in English, I hear) is pure gold for AQ nerds.
Tawil’s personal blog can be found here, although all it does is to republish his el-Hayat articles.
